Volodymyr Salyuk: "The opponent played very tightly in the center"

The defender of "Metalist 1925" Volodymyr Salyuk commented on the match with "Epicenter" on UPL TV:

— Today, a draw for "Metalist 1925" is not a very favorable result, as I understand. Why do you think this match turned out to be so difficult?

— Yes. We were preparing for the game, knew it wouldn't be easy - a hundred percent. Because we saw that even with good teams, the opponent played at the same level, even if we take their last match with "Polissya." We knew it would be a tough game. I think we could have played better in the first half, in the second half we took control of the ball, but couldn't capitalize on our chances.

— It seems that "Metalist 1925" was supposed to attack, but "Epicenter" neutralized your attack?

— Yes, the team plays with a defensive approach, if I may say so. They don't press the opponent strongly, they rather retreat to their half. Today we couldn't create many chances because the opponent defended very tightly in the center.

— There were many nervous episodes from both teams, what was the reason for this?

— What could be the reason for this? Two decent teams were playing, as they say, "head to head." Today was a decent game. I repeat: there were two good teams.
